Back to School Style

Happy September! Where did the summer go? Classes have started, the weather is getting cooler, and everyone's schedules are becoming more and more busy, including mine! With a jam-packed schedule, I realized my blog posts are getting few and far between, which makes me really sad. My new goal is to share one blog post a week here on forward. Between school, work, and friends and family time, there is so little time left for creativity to flow into the blog. But, I absolutely love sharing my passion for all things style, so I am determined to stick to my one-post-a-week rule. Thanks for all of the support!

I want to share my back to school must-haves, from technology to tennis shoes. First, even I am not the type of person to dress up for class and I definitely value comfort. These New Balance x J. Crew cropped leggings are the absolute best, and the navy color is something different, but goes with everything. I always love the darling details that Vineyard Vines adds to their clothing- there's always something too cute, like this gingham ball cap. This half-zip is perfectly oversized and comfy for those early mornings. Also, I've been on a mission to find light pink tennis shoes that are good for walking long distances and for the gym. These new balance sneakers in the color "confetti" are perfect for just that. They also come in a navy color for those that want more versatile sneakers, but I have found that pink goes with quite a lot.

A great laptop and comfy backpack is so, so important for school- especially for walking around larger campuses. I am not the most techie (even though blogging has helped me learn so much about my computer), but I knew that I wanted a great laptop that worked great for both homework and lots of photo editing. After spending some time online and in stores like Best Buy and Apple, I decided that the MacBook Pro would be best for me and would be working great for many years. I also needed a laptop sleeve to protect it while it's in my backpack. This Kate Spade lap top sleeve is sold out unfortunately, but here is some more great ones that are both protective and cute! Lastly, I mentioned before how a great backpack that is comfy to lug around campus is absolutely necessary. There are many great brands who make backpacks, like Nike and the North Face, but I wanted something that was very me. I found Madeline and Company through Instagram and after reading great reviews about the wear of their backpacks, I had to have this versatile grey one! It has multiple large pockets and the faux leather will be super durable for all sort of weather conditions.

I hope everyone has a great school year, enjoy!

Polka Dots and Pearls

The summer has flown by and now I'm ready to start transitioning my wardrobe into fall. The colder months are my favorite to dress for because I love layering and cozy looks. But today, I'm sharing a transitional outfit that can work for this awkward late summer/early fall weather. This outfit is super easy to duplicate with classic essentials, like a basic button-up, statement necklace, darker denim, and flats that are a pop of color. I added my own little twist to this tried-and-true outfit formula with a leopard belt, tortoise sunnies, and bold red lips. I encourage you to make your own easy go-to outfit that is timeless and appropriate for almost any occasion.

Outfit details are linked below. Enjoy!

Late Summer Flowers

It's sad to say, but summer (at least for students like me) is coming to a close. Although I'm excited to start getting some classes out of the way, I'll miss my more carefree summer days. So, I rounded up my favorite and most summery outfit for this post. This Liberty of London floral skirt is a statement piece that I paired with my scallop eyelet crop top (the white version was in last week's post). I wore my favorite shimmery espadrille wedges that are now on sale. Outfit details are linked at the end of the post.

Enjoy!

The Seaside Pant

I had to make it out to the beach at least one more time this summer. Life has been so crazy busy that I feel like I haven't crossed hardly anything off of my summer bucket list, but I made sure that I visit Lake Michigan more than just once. And since Grand Haven's pier is closed this summer, I definitely wanted to visit Holland's state park because the prettiest lighthouse sits on the beach, and I made sure to include in some of the photos below.

It's hard to come across a great pair of summer pants that are both wearable and cute. Summer in Michigan is often time too hot for pants, but the seaside pants are super light and comfy and can be worn all throughout summer. I wore mine out to dinner and for an evening walk on the beach in Holland. I've worn the chambray pair so much that I had to get the lilac color as well. The thing I love about the seaside pants the most is that I can throw them on with a comfy striped tee and still feel put together while running errands on a lazy day.

Enjoy!
