My Christmas Dress

Every year, I love to pick out one special Christmas outfit, usually a dress or skirt. Plaid is my very favorite way to be festive, and this black watch plaid dress is no exception. It is not too dressy, but still feels holiday and is fun to wear (especially the pockets). My cozy cable knit cardigan is actually borrowed from the men's section, and I threw it on for extra warmth at one of my Christmas parties. I topped it off with my classic black cocoon coat for a dressier look. Lately, I've been wearing my over the knee boots everywhere because I'm not worried about getting the suede wet in the snow since it's waterproof. Practical yet stylish is my favorite combination.

Outfit details are linked below- I hope everyone had a great Christmas!

The Last-Minute Gift Guide

Happy Saturday! I put together a few last minute gift ideas for any of the guys and gals in your life that you haven't checked off of your list yet. Each guide has options that are timeless and useful for any age. The Fresh Umbrian clay mask on the first guide is a tried-and-true for me. I picked it up at the beginning of this year and have been hooked ever since; it is gentle, but I definitely notice how deeply clean my face feels. On the second guide, I was most excited to find the cologne sampler for men because it has twelve mini colognes from top brands, but also comes with a certificate that he can take to the store to get a full size bottle of his favorite scent from the sampler. No more guessing if he likes the cologne that you picked out for him. I hope this guide comes in handy if you're struggling to check those last few people off of your list before Christmas. Enjoy!

Hello Again

I cannot express how happy I am to be back to blogging after such a long, busy break! I have so many cute holiday outfits and gifting ideas to share with you all. First, I'm starting with a winter look that doesn't have to be just for the holidays. I love this outfit so much because the individual pieces are some of my most-loved items in my closet. My ivory fleece vest is so comfy and cozy, and what I love most is that it is a more refined version of the many fleece vests out there. This vest works perfectly as an essential winter layering piece, especially over my L.L. Bean Flannel. I'm in love with how soft and cozy this flannel is- seriously, nothing compares! In my experience, L.L. Bean flannels are great quality and have the thickness that all flannels should have. Here is another one of my favorite plaids.
As for footwear, I chose these over-the-knee boots by Blondo. They are actually called knee-high boots, but for ladies 5'5 and under, like me, they end up falling just above the knee. The best part of these boots is that they are both waterproof and suede, a combination that rarely exists in fashionable footwear. I usually wear mine with sweater dresses, back tights, or these pants that are a better alternative to leggings, as I love the little details like the back zipper and seams.
The finishing details are always important in any outfit, as I chose my favorite pearl statement necklace. It is timeless, and I'm finding myself reaching for it more often as it is perfect for the holidays. I kept the rest of my jewelry simple with my Pandora rose gold rings and a pearl bangle bracelet. The bangle is an oldie but a goodie from Ann Taylor, but I found a similar one here from Kiel James Patrick (a little pricey, but so darling!). Everything on KJP is so detailed and adorable, I couldn't resist snagging this classic necklace.
Last but not least, I chose to carry my Tory Burch handbag with this look. It goes with everything and  will never go out of style. I scored mine (available at a great price here) during the Tory Burch Cyber Monday sale, and unfortunately, it is sold out online. But, I've found more great options with amazing prices here on eBay. I specifically have my eye on this quilted one. The most important things to keep in mind when purchasing items on eBay are how well the seller is rated by previous customers, reading the item condition and description carefully to make sure it is up to your standards, and looking thoroughly at each picture to confirm the item's condition. There are so many great finds to be had!

Outfit details are listed below, happy shopping!

A Light Little Jacket

Fall is upon us! I'm so glad that the weather is cooling down just enough for me to start lightly layering. I picked up this tweed bell-sleeve jacket when I was on the hunt for a statement piece that still went with everything in my closet, and I found exactly that. It is breathable and comfy with some stretch to it, and the navy color is easy for pairing. I went with a simple navy tee and lighter wash denim to keep the jacket as the center of attention. I kept the look from going too dark with white accessories. My loafers are G.H. Bass and Co, my favorite brand for classic and comfy loafers. I have the white color I am wearing here and a pinky nude color I wore in this post. They truly are one of the most comfy shoes that I own, and I'm currently eyeing these brown ones to wear this fall.

Anyway, I'm super excited to start sharing fall outfits on the blog, especially the one I am going to wear to Art Prize in Grand Rapids this Sunday. Josh and I go to Art Prize every fall and this time around, the little getaway feels much more needed! I love walking around the streets of downtown Grand Rapids, viewing all of the unique pieces, and of course, stopping by one of the local restaurants to grab a delicious bite to eat. The festival goes until October 8th, and I definitely recommend stopping by if you get the chance.

My outfit details are linked below- enjoy!

Early Fall Style

Even though it doesn't feel like fall in Michigan, I still am super excited about building a great fall wardrobe. I wear this sweater blazer all of the time with dresses, button-ups, and cute tanks because it's super comfy but is that finishing touch on so many outfits. Unfortunately, the camel color is backordered until November, but the charcoal color is still in stock. My favorite piece to wear with my sweater blazer is this army green utility dress. The ruffle details and bow at the waist make it feminine and are a great spin on this classic dress. I was on the fence about these glitter snakeskin flats for awhile because I was not sure how practical they were. Surprisingly, I wear them more than my tan or black flats since they are a neutral color and dress up almost any outfit!

Lastly, I have been on the hunt for a great matte lip color that doesn't dry my lips out. After trying different brands my favorite is this Smashbox liquid matte lipstick in the rose color. I use a neutral lip liner from Smashbox to make the lipstick precise and stay on all day.
